If you hadn’t noticed by now, good design is at the core of our values here at Primo Toys. Whether it’s our use of beautifully machine-cut birch-ply in the Cubetto Playset, our vast library of wonderful illustrations, gorgeous books, maps, packaging, furniture, you name it; throughout all our work we love to celebrate design and creativity.
We also love people who celebrate those same values too! Which is why on Friday, May 12th, we teamed up with It’s Nice That to host a workshop at their creative space. It’s Nice That is a studio with a mission to democratise creative inspiration the world over by championing the most exciting and engaging work online, in print, and through their events programme.
Cubetto may be designed for 3-6 year-olds, but our friendly wooden robot can still be especially difficult (and fun!) for the oldies too. So we came up with a tough challenge, creating a racecourse for the gang at INT. The goal: to get Cubetto from one point of the map to another, making sure to move across specific squares along the way.
The workshop was a smash hit – a bit of head-scratching may have taken place here and there, but all the teams successfully managed to help our cute little robot to its destination and learn some computational thinking skills along the way. Here’s to creative mind melds!
Dimitri Hadjichristou is well-placed to talk about design – he is Primo Toys’ Interaction Designer and master of the office laser cutter.
