If you’ve enquired about using Cubetto in the classroom, or stopped by the Primo Toys stand at an education fair, chances are you’ve spoken to our Education Team‘s Giorgia Migliaresi. The multi-talented chatterbox talks us through her job as the point of contact for educators bringing coding to schools all over the world.
I’m responsible for…
Educational Relationships! I support educators introducing Coding for their youngest students all around the world. My goal is to help them make it stress-free to teach, engaging for the students and most of all effective to prepare them for the high standards of digital literacy that society has set.
On a typical day…
I get to the office nice and early to make sure I can get in a round of phone calls before everyone’s teaching day starts. More calls follow scattered throughout the day so it’s a good thing I’m a natural chatterbox! There’s also plenty of research on innovative ways of bringing coding to our youngest, and I’m always on the lookout for opportunities to meet new educators.
In my past life…
I wanted to become a Mandarin-Italian translator, before realising I cannot possibly thrive tucked away in a room all by myself surrounded by dictionaries!
My most memorable work moment…
Is turning a disastrous meeting in a long-lasting, powerful friendship that lasted many years and many jobs. It taught me that every cloud has a silver lining if you keep yourself open to the possibility of everything going well in the end!
The best part of my job…
Is meeting so many inspiring people. My fellow Cubettists here at Primo are wonderful in their own right, but my pride and joy are the crowd of talented, motivated educators that make life better for students around the globe. Their determination and commitment to the greater good are unrivalled.
The most challenging part of my job…
Is not being always able to please everyone. Sometimes it’s just not possible to make things work out and it’s always a pity when that happens.
My special talent…
Is learning languages! I’m not particularly good at it, but I am the right kind of stubborn and I have been collecting them for a while now (I’m on five!). I’m working my way through Serbo-Croatian and already looking forward to the next one on the list.
Outside of work…
I’m an obsessive compulsive dressmaker with bookworm tendencies and really long hair.
My signature dish…
It must be Spaghetti Carbonara. Or milk-roasted pork loin for when I’m feeling real fancy.
I’m inspired by…
Nature. Patterns, colours, balance – everything can be found around us already.
My great ambition…
Is to bring Cubetto to every classroom.
When I retire…
I will finally move to a warm country and spend my free time learning Sanskrit and hand-painting sarongs.
If I wasn’t in my line of work…
I would probably try my hand at professional pattern-cutting (a nerdy branch of fashion design).
